Tabula Rasa Lab

I am a PhD candidate in the BSTP-Pharmacology program at CWRU. My project in Dhawan’s lab focuses on establishing and characterizing astrocyte-glioblastoma co-cultures to better understand how the crosstalk within the tumor microenvironment influence tumor behavior and the evolution of therapeutic resistance. Using these models, I study how astrocytes shape glioblastoma responses to treatment and aim to identify vulnerabilities that could be leveraged to improve therapies for patients with aggressive brain tumors. Moving forward, I hope to continue building translational research approaches that bridge pharmacology and neuro-oncology to uncover new strategies for targeting treatment-resistant disease. Previously, I received a PharmD from Pharos University in Egypt, followed by a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Wright State University. So far, science has been the biggest highlight of my life. However, when I’m not doing science, I’m probably watching a movie or listening to music while walking by the lake.
